COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Despite taking an early lead in the game, Mizzou dropped to No. 13/14 Texas A&M 78-52 on Wednesday (Jan. 18) in College Station, Texas. The Tigers now drop to 10-6 overall on the season and the team is 0-5 in Big 12 play. The Tigers were led by Senior Christine Flores who recorded 13 points and five blocks on the night. Senior BreAnna Brock was one board away from a double-double on the night as she snatched nine rebounds and tallied 12 points.
Missouri recorded 33 points in the first half, starting the game on a 7-2 run. Missouri held the lead until the eighth minute of play when a free throw shot from Kelsey Assarian tied it at 14. Together, Brock and Crafton put up the Tigers' first 12 points in the game. Crafton finished the night with eight points and two assists.
The Tigers went into the locker room at half down by seven. Missouri shot 54.5 percent in the first half going 15-for-30 from the field. The Aggies held Mizzou to just 27.3 percent in the second half, and prevented the Tigers from recovering.
Mizzou scored 20 of its 52 points in the paint and held the Aggies to just 25 percent from behind the arc.
Flores' five blocks on the night, surpass her single season record from 2010-11. She recorded 56 blocks last season, which tied her at No. 5 on Missouri's single-season blocks list. She now has 57 blocks this season and has gained sole possession of the No. 5 spot.
