Waco, Texas.- Missouri Women's Hoops fell to Baylor on Wednesday, dropping to 10-2 on the season with the 90-46 loss. The No. 1-ranked Lady Bears remain undefeated on the season, beginning the year 14-0 for the first time in Baylor school history. Seniors BreAnna Brock and Christine Flores led the Tigers on the night, both scoring in double figures.
Brock put up 14 points on the night, recording six rebounds and an assist as well. Flores also led the team with 10 points, four assists, two blocks and two rebounds.
The Lady Bears took command of the game quickly in the first half, starting out with a 5-0 run. A three-pointer from Brock put the Tigers on the board in the second minute of play. Down 10-28 with 10 minutes to play in the first half, Mizzou kicked the defense up a notch. The Tigers held Baylor scoreless for six minutes. Baylor's Odyssey Sims hit a jumper with 6:06 left to play, answered by a three-pointer from Kyley Simmons. Mizzou kept the pressure on Baylor, closing out the first half down 40-23. The Tigers recorded 23 points in each half, shooting 25 percent from the field.
Two free throws from Brock got the Tigers started in the second half. Mizzou went on a 9-2 run six minutes into the half, decreasing Baylor's lead 39-63. Mizzou held Baylor to 22.2 percent from behind the arc in the second half, as the Lady Bears had a 46.2 three-point shooting percentage in the first half of the contest. The Tigers shot 87.5 percent from the free throw line in the game, with four tigers shooting 100 percent. Despite the tough opponent, twelve Tigers saw time on the court in the contest.
