Junior Brianna Kulas has basketball experience at all levels. The Shawnee Mission, Kan., native spent her freshman season at Kansas State before joining the team at Johnson County Community College. She's now a Tiger and we look forward to seeing her on the floor this season!
Junior (2012-13): A consistent and strong presence on the floor, Kulas started in each of Mizzou's 32 games averaging 30 minutes played per contest...averaged a team-leading 13.8 points per game, also good for the ninth-best average in the SEC...was named to the All-SEC Second Team...was perfect from the charity stripe eight times throughout the season...tallied a team-leading five double-doubles on the season...Helped Missouri earn its second Top-15 win in the season with a career-high 26 points on senior night against South Carolina...scored in the double digits in ten consecutive games from Nov. 24-Jan. 3, and put up double-digit scoring figures in a total of 18 games...led the tigers in the statistical categories of points, scoring average, field goal attempts, field goals made, free throw attempts and free throws made, rebounds, rebound average, defensive rebounds and minutes.
Sophomore (Johnson Community College): Selected as a 2012 NJCAA Women's Basketball Division II All-American...helped JCCC to a school record 32-3 season...Her team wont the East Jayhawk Conference Title with an 18-0 record in conference play...Led the Lady Cavaliers in scoring with 12.0 points per game...Averaged 6.3 rebounds per game...Led the team with 83 free throws made.
Freshman (Kansas State): Played in 20 games...Her contributions helped bring the team to the first round of the NCAA tournament...She tallied five points, two rebounds and an assist in 17 minutes of action in her career debut against Grambling State (11/12)... Notched five points and three rebounds against Indiana State (11/17)... Scored two points and pulled in four rebounds against Western Illinois (11/21)... Carded six points and five rebounds against North Dakota (12/8)... Scored four points on 4-of-4 shooting from the foul line and dished out a career-high two assists against UC Davis (12/12)... Tallied a career-high eight points and pulled in four rebounds against Vermont (12/30)... Notched six points on a career-high 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and pulled in two rebounds against Colorado (2/16).
High School: Played for Kelly Dennis at Shawnee Mission High School in Overland Park, Kan...2010 Sporting News High School All-American honorable mention recipient... Played in the 2010 Hy-Vee/Pepsi Challenge and scored 16 points... Two-time All-Sunflower League first team recipient... Earned All-Sunflower League second team honors following her sophomore season... 2009 All-Kansas City Metro honorable mention selection... Registered 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.2 assists during her senior season at Shawnee Mission North... Carded 17.4 points per game on a .540 field goal percentage and also hauled in 4.9 rebounds per game during her junior campaign... Garnered Scholar-Athlete Award... Also named to the National Honor Society and named to the academic honor roll
