This past weekend the team lost the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational by one point to Ohio State University. The tournament was decided in the final weight class in the championship round. It was definitely a tough loss to swallow, but I think this experience can be a blessing in disguise. A loss like this shows the team that every match and every point matters when you are trying to win championships.
After the tournament was over we got to visit with our parents and other supporters. The team really enjoyed getting to see the Larson family make it to the tournament. I got to visit with the Larson's briefly and meet Mike's brother, Shane, who is just as big of an athlete as Mike. I am always amazed at the sacrifices people make in life. In Mike's case, the sacrifice of moving all the way out to Missouri from California, where he rarely gets to see his family in order to become a better wrestler and a better man. I am thankful that he made that choice and became one of my brothers on the team.
Now it is time to get back to work. I look forward to getting back in the practice room this afternoon to learn more and more. The team will continue to improve and be ready to battle on December 16th at Madison Square Garden with big duals against ranked teams in Cornell and Bloomsburg.
Thanks for reading and your support.
