Welcome Week: B.J. Toal and Barlow McGhee

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Day two of "Welcome Week" for the Mizzou Wrestling program spotlights BJ Toal, a two-time Ohio state champion and the brother of senior 165-pounder, Zach Toal, and Barlow McGhee, an Illinois state champion from Rock Island, Ill.

Toal comes to Mizzou after leading Troy Christian High to a team-state title in his senior campaign. His two first-place finishes came in his junior and senior campaigns at 182 pounds after placing second as a freshman at 171. In 2012, BJ was the runner-up at both the Ironman and Super 32 national wrestling tournaments. Toal earned four letters in wrestling. Toal is set to occupy a spot among the upperweights during his tenure as a Tiger.

McGhee posted a career record of 156-14 in his four years at Rock Island High School in Rock Island, Ill. He was a state champion his senior year at 120 pounds after finishing second his junior year at 113 and third his sophomore year in the 103-pound class. He placed 6th in freestyle at the Fargo USA Wrestling Cadet Junior National Championships in 2010, 4th in freestyle in 2011 and 8th in freestyle in 2012.

Along with four years of wrestling, Barlow, who also goes by BJ, played football for the Rocks. He looks to wrestle at 125 pounds for the Tigers in the coming years.
