Columbia, Mo. - TigerStyle wrestling camps are filling up fast!  Limited space remains in Missouri Head Coach Brian Smith's TigerStyle camps.  Those interested in attending one of seven TigerStyle camps are encouraged to register online now at www.TigerStyleWrestling.com.

 

Currently, squads from 13 different states will be attending Team Camps.  Designed for high school teams who desire summertime dual meet competition as well as technique, the team camp will provide wrestlers multiple matches each day.  In addition, campers will learn technique, drill for three hours and receive individual evaluations.  Team Camp 1 (June 15-19) and Team Camp 2 (June 20-24) will be held in the newly renovated Dan Devine Pavilion on the University of Missouri campus.  The Pavilion is located on the west side of Faurot Field at the intersection of Providence Blvd. and Stadium Drive.  The Georgia Team Camp will run July 20-24.


 

 

 

Individuals in grades fifth through eighth are encouraged to attend the Middle School Camp, June 27-29 in the Missouri Wrestling Room located on the fourth floor of the Hearnes Center.  Campers will learn TigerStyle drills and techniques for two days and put their skills to the test on the third day in a folk style tournament.  The champions of the tournament will earn a TigerStyle belt.

Bradley Wins at FILA Junior Team Trials

Mizzou freshman Dom Bradley scored a victory in the 120KG (264.5 pounds) weight class of the FILA Junior World Team Trails this weekend, as he defeated Zach Rey (Lehigh) to earn a spot on the United States Junior Freestyle National Team.

Missouri heavyweight Dominique Bradley (Blue Springs, Mo.) took first place at the FILA Junior 120 kg/264.5 pounds Freestyle Championships, while teammates Nick Hucke (Pewaukee, Wis.) finished second at 63 kg/138.75 and Patrick Wright (Grand Ledge, Mich.) took sixth at 74 kg/163 pounds.

Missouri crowned its second-ever wrestling national champion upon the completion of junior heavyweight Mark Ellis' 3-2 overtime victory over fifth-ranked Konrad Dudziak of Duke.

Jordan Takes Third, One of Five Missouri All-Americans

Missouri wrestlers Raymond Jordan (New Bern, N.C.), Michael Chandler (High Ridge, Mo.), Maxwell Askren (Hartland, Wis.) and Nicholas Marable (Collierville, Tenn.) finished the 2008-09 season as All-Americans closing out the third day of the NCAA Wrestling Championships with top-eight finishes at 174, 157, 197 and 165 pounds, respectively.

The Missouri wrestling team wrapped up the second night of NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in historic fashion, crowning a program-high five All-Americans and sending junior Mark Ellis (Peculiar, Mo.) to the Championship finals of the heavyweight bout.
