COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri wrestling team will celebrate the 2011-12 season, one that brought the program’s first-ever Big 12 Championship, with their annual end-of-the-year banquet. The event will take place on Sunday, April 15, at 1 p.m. in the Sells Dining Hall at the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex (MATC).

With a school record four individual conference champions, the Tigers scored 77.0 points en route to their first Big 12 title ever, coming in front of the hometown crowd at the Hearnes Center. Mizzou would send all every starter to the NCAA Championship in St. Louis, the only program to send all 10 wrestlers this season and the first time ever Mizzou had 10 qualifiers. The season was capped off when head coach Brian Smith was named Big 12 Coach of the Year for the first time.

The banquet is open to the general public and tickets are $10, which can be purchased at the door. Those planning on attending are encouraged to contact the Missouri wrestling office and RSVP.
