Hey everybody, first off I would like to apologize for the absence of my blog as of late due to exams and the holidays it was hard for me to find time to write. Luckily for all of you I have a few weeks worth of events to talk about. I believe we left off right before exams, which went pretty well I end first semesters with three Bs and a C. I wasn't exactly unhappy with my performance but I know there is a lot of room for improvement next semester in my workload and study habits.
After exams finished up I headed home to North Carolina and was greeted off the plane by my parents and 70 degree weather, this was quite a change from the 6 degree and snowy weather I left back in Columbia. Although I was on break I did not shy away from the wrestling community. After a quick dinner with my family we capped the night off with watching my old teammates in a local tournament they were at.
I slept in for the next few days and got some much need rest before going to my old high school and helping them set up for the annual Tiger Classic (one of the biggest tournaments in the southeast). The tournament was a great success over the next two days with my good friend and Corey Mock winning it handedly and taking home the MOW award as well. My break didn't just consist of visiting. I was also lucky enough to get one to two workouts a day with my friend Dewitt Driscoll. He coaches the Carolina Wrestle Club and Keegan Mueller a friend of mine who wrestles for UNC.
Christmas was fun. My parents and I spent it with friends of ours, the Mock family, at there new lake house. It was an extremely relaxing and quiet Christmas. After all this, I was itching to get back in Columbia and start training again with the Tigers. The first few days I've been back the training has really been kicked up a notch in preparation for National Duals. I hope everyone had a great holiday and I'll be back next week with more details from the practice room as we prepared for National Duals.
