High School: Rice wrestled for Washington Community High School, helping the team to back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances at state over his last two seasons. As a senior, Rice went 41-5 at 135 pounds, finishing fourth in state and fourth at nationals. He finished in seventh at nationals as a sophomore, and posted a 33-8 record on the year at 125. He was a two-time state champion in the state of Illinois for Greco, winning in 2010 and again in 2011. Also in 2011, he took fourth in Greco at the Fargo Nationals. He was a two-time Fargo All-American and was the team MVP his senior year. Along with wrestling, Rice played football and also lettered in cross country as a senior. He was a High Honor Roll member all four years of high school.

Personal: Brandon was born in Little Rock, Ark., on Oct. 20, 1992 to Tony and Amy Rice. He is the oldest of three children, as he has two younger brothers - Trevor (16) and Ashton (7). His father, Tony, attended Bradley University and is an engineer. Brandon is majoring in physical therapy and chose Mizzou over Brown University and Rider.
