2001-02 SEASON: Herron took fourth place at the Missouri Open and the Reno Tournament of Champions. He finished third on the team in pins with ten. Eight of those pins came in the first period, and five came in less than 1:00.

2000-01 SEASON: Was selected as a team captain, but redshirted the season. Wrestling unattached, he reached the finals in the CMSU Open in the 197-pound weight class. He won the Wilkes Open and the Missouri Valley Open in the heavyweight division. Kevin finished in the top-12 at the U.S. Freestyle National Tournament and was a University Nationals All-American.

1999-00 SEASON: Herron filled the 197 spot in fine style, garnering a 24-12 record overall, with 16 wins coming from dual matches. In the dual against number-three Illinois, he posted a huge upset over sixth ranked Pat Quirk. Herron medaled in three tournaments, taking third at the Great Plains Open and second at both the CMSU Open and the Lindenwood Open.

1998-99 SEASON: Kevin stepped into the starting lineup at mid-season and showed great promise. Of his 15 wins, five came by pin, including a dramatic third period pin of Josh Cruzan of Oklahoma State in the first round of the Big 12 Championships. He also registered four major decision wins, the most by a Tiger freshman and his 15 total wins were the most by a first-year wrestler. His win by fall over Nebraska's Andy Sistex happened in just 31 seconds, the fastest by a Tiger for the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: In his last two seasons at Fox High School, Kevin lost only two matches, including an undefeated senior season. In 1998, he won a state championship, was an all-state selection and was his team's MVP. During Kevin's four-year career, Fox won their conference title each season.

PERSONAL: The son of Cheryl and Bud Herron, Kevin is a parks, recreation and tourism major.
