High School: McGhee posted a career record of 156-14 in his four years at Rock Island High School in Rock Island, Ill. He was a state champion his senior year at 120 pounds after finishing second his junior year at 113 and third his sophomore year in the 103-pound class. He placed 6th in freestyle at the Fargo USA Wrestling Cadet Junior National Championships in 2010, 4th in freestyle in 2011 and 8th in freestyle in 2012. Along with four years of wrestling, Barlow, who also goes by BJ, played football for the Rocks. He looks to wrestle at 125 pounds for the Tigers in the coming years.

Personal: BJ was born to Barlow and Danielle McGhee on January 15, 1995 in Topeka, Kan. He has two younger siblings - his sister Vilgie and his younger brother Daniel. BJ intends on majoring in Education.
