Congratulations to the Iowa State Cyclones - 2007 Big 12 Champions!
Welcome to Columbia!
The 2007 Big 12 Conference Wrestling Championship will be held March 3 at the Hearnes Center on the University of Missouri campus. This marks the third time that Mizzou has hosted the event in conference history, including the inaugural Big 12 event in 1997, and again in 2003. The Tigers join Iowa State (1999, 2004, 2006) as the only three-time wrestling hosts in the Big 12 Era.
Oklahoma State has won eight of the 10 previous titles (1997-98, 2000-2001, 2003-06) and added its fourth consecutive national crown as a member of the Big 12 Conference last season. Oklahoma claimed the other two conference meets in 1999 and 2002. Individually, six of the 10 defending weight class champions -- including Mizzou's Ben Askren at 174 pounds -- return to the 2007 championship field, although two -- Oklahoma State's Nathan Morgan and Iowa State's Kurt Backes are wrestling at higher weights this year.
