David Bonuchi Named SEC Male Diver of the Week

Nov. 12, 2013

COLUMBIA, Mo. - For the second time in three weeks, Mizzou senior diver David Bonuchi was named the Southeastern Conference Male Diver of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Bonuchi also earned the honors on Oct. 29 and stands as the only male diver to earn the award twice in so far this season.

The honor also stands as the fourth of Bonuchi's career. He claimed SEC Male Diver of the Week honors on Oct. 23, 2012 and Big 12 Diver of the Week accolades on Dec. 15, 2010, in addition to the Oct. 29 award.

Bonuchi swept the 1-meter and 3-meter springboards in Mizzou's 155-88 win over Missouri State on Nov. 8. The senior won the 1-meter with a season high 402.67 points, a total that also ranks first among all SEC divers this season. Bonuchi also claimed top honors on the 3-meter with a score of 390.97, which was just six points off his season best.

The Tigers return to the pool for the three-day Mizzou Invite Nov. 21-23 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
