COLUMBIA, Mo--The Mizzou Tigers are on the road this weekend for a match up against Texas, SMU and Texas A&M. The four schools will compete in the Southwest College Invite, hosted by SMU in Mansfield, Texas. The meet begins Friday, Oct. 23, at 7p.m. (CT) and will resume Saturday, Oct. 24 at 11a.m. (CT).
Missouri comes into the weekend from a second place finish at its first home meet of the season, the Show-me Showdown with 313.5 points. The men recorded three first place finishes in the pool throughout the day and captured first-place in both the 1-meter and 3-meter, dominating the diving well. Senior Greg DeStephen took first-place in the 3-meter with 272.10, while teammate Dante Jones finished second in the event with a 265.40
Southern Methodist is the only other team that enters the weekend competition with prior experience this season. The Mustangs finished second at the North Texas Relays on Oct. 9 and captured a dual victory over New Orleans, 158-140, Oct. 17 at home in the Mansfield Natatorium.
Big 12 opponents Texas and Texas A&M are set to kick of the 2009-10 campaign in Mansfield.
