COLUMBIA, Mo. - Mizzou sophomore diver Clark Thomas was named the Southeastern Conference Male Diver of the Week for his performance in the Georgia Diving Invitational, the league office announced on Tuesday. The honor was the first of Thomas' career.

A native of Olathe, Kan., Thomas claimed the 3-meter title, set two career highs and earned two more top-six finishes at last weekend's three-day meet. The sophomore opened the Invitational with a win on the 3-meter with a finals round score of 386.75, a new career high by 17 points. Clark also notched a career best on 1-meter prelims with a tally of 365.65 as he ultimately finished in fifth-place. He concluded the meet with a sixth-place finish on the platform with 326.85 points.

In addition to his performance at the Georgia Diving Invitational, Thomas also competed at the 2013 USA Diving Winter National Championships in December. He earned runner-up honors on the 1-meter with a two-round score of 695.85. Thomas scored 377.45 points in prelims to enter finals in second place, where he then posted 318.4 points in finals to take second.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 11 when the team travels to Knoxville, Tenn. to face Tennessee at 10 a.m. CT.
