Bonuchi Concludes NCAAs with Second Place Showing

Sophomore diver David Bonuchi placed second on the platform diving competition at the 2012 NCAA Championships to cap off the most successful championships for a Mizzou diver in program history. The second place finish is the best ever for a male diver and earned Bonuchi his third All-America of the championships and fifth overall.

The Tigers finished in 19th place overall with 46 points.

Bonuchi scored 402.70 points in the afternoon preliminary session, entering the finals competition in sixth place. In the night session, the sophomore scored 456.00 points to take national runner-up honors.

Over the three-day event, Bonuchi claimed top-three finishes on all three diving events. In addition to the second place showing on the platform, he finished fourth on the 3-meter and sixth on the 1-meter.
