Tigers in Seventh After Day Two at SEC Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Mizzou men's swimming and diving team sits in seventh place with 252 points following day two action on Wednesday at the 2013 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships in College Station, Texas.

Sophomore Sam Tierney took fifth in the 200 IM consolation final as he posted a time of 1:46.00. Sophomores Igor Kozlovskij and Mack Darragh were seventh and eighth, respectively, with times of 1:46.29 and 1:47.20.

In the 50 free, junior Logan Mosley shattered his prelims time to finish second in the consolation final with a 19.85. The time was a career high and ranks him third all-time at Mizzou. Freshman Max Grodecki swam in the C final and notched a time of 20.16 to place fifth. It was Grodecki's third swim in the event of the day, as he took part in a swim-off following the morning session.

Mizzou's 200 free relay team of Grodecki, Mosley, Tierney and senior Joe Hladik posted a time of 1:18.77 to place sixth in the final event of the night.

The SEC Championships resume Thursday, Feb. 21 with preliminary action at 10 a.m. and the finals session at 6 p.m.
