COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Mizzou men's and women's swimming teams concluded day one competition at the Tiger Invite Friday, Feb. 1 at the Mizzou Aquatic Center. The meet is the Tigers' final tune-up until the Southeastern Conference Championships, Feb. 19-23, in College Station, Texas.

Sophomore Danielle Barbiea swam a 54.14 in the women's100 fly to finish first in the event, just ahead of freshman Anna Patterson (55.02) and senior Cassie Cunningham (55.26).

In the men's 100 fly, sophomore Igor Kozlovskij clocked a season best 48.31. Junior Logan Mosley placed second with a time of 48.91, also a season best, while sophomores Sam Tierney and Mack Darragh were third and fourth, respectively, with times of 49.16 and 49.18.

Senior Ashley Patterson finished first in the women's 500 free as she recorded a 4:52.51, a personal best time. Classmate Brigette Selbert also clocked a personal best of 4:54.46 to placed second in the event.

Sophomore Eegan Groome just outtouched freshman Daniel Graviss in the men's 500 free as the duo took first and second, respectively. Groome swam a 4:23.36 while Graviss clocked an NCAA `B' qualifying time of 4:23.93. Graviss's time also puts him second place all-time at Mizzou in the event, behind only Groome.

In the women's 200 IM, sophomore Danielle Spradlin took top honors as she posted a time of 2:03.73. Senior Dominique Bouchard touched in second place with a swim of 2:04.06.

 

 

Darragh took first in the men's 200 IM after posting a time of 1:49.69, while senior Jowan Qupty was third in 1:51.99.

Barbiea continued her strong night as she clocked a 22.90 in the women's 50 free to finish in first place and post an NCAA `B' qualifying time. The time is a season high and puts her fifth all-time at Mizzou. Patterson placed second in the event with a 23.34.

In the men's 50 free, Mosley swam a 20.94 to finish in first place, ahead of junior Mark Conroy, who clocked a 21.19.

The Tiger Invite continues Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
