Randi Vogel enters her second season as an assistant coach for the University of Missouri.
Vogel brings collegiate experience both as a student-athlete and as a coach to Columbia. She spent the 2009-10 campaign as an assistant coach at Cincinnati, where she worked with 2010 NCAA 50m Freestyle Champion Josh Schneider. Prior to her time coaching the Bearcats, she coached the University of Cincinnati's Masters Swim Team in the summer of 2009 and has been an instructor at the West Point Swim Camp (United States Army) each of the past two summers.
A 2007 graduate of Cincinnati, Vogel was named team captain for the Bearcats as a senior and twice earned the Bearcat Leadership Award while completing her degree in communications.
Vogel began her collegiate career at the University of Tennessee where she swam two seasons for the Lady Vols.
The Cincinnati native comes from a strong swimming background. Her father, John Vogel, swam at Tennessee from 1974-77 and her mother, Diane Johannigman, was an all-American at Houston and is the former 100m butterfly American and World record holder.
