Clark Thomas Punches Ticket to NCAA Championships

Junior diver Clark Thomas won 1-meter at the NCAA Zone D Championships to earn an NCAA Championships berth


  • 1-Meter: 398.60 (NCAA Zone D Diving Championships, 2015)
  • 3-Meter: 436.30 (SEC Championships, 2015)
  • Platform: 346.85 (SEC Championships, 2013)

2014-15 (JUNIOR)

  • Named to the All-SEC Second Team
  • Twice named the SEC Male Diver of the Week in 2014-15
  • Competed both springboards at the NCAA Championships
  • Won 1-meter at NCAA Zones and notched a career best total of 398.60 in prelims
  • Earned runner-up honors on 3-meter at SECs with a career best 436.60 in finals
  • Also placed fifth on 1-meter and 12th on platform at the SEC Championships
  • Ranks second all-time at Mizzou on 3-meter, third on 1-meter and sixth on platform
  • Won 13 titles in 2014-15, including six each on 1-meter and 3-meter

2013-14 (SOPHOMORE)

  • Earned two All-America honorable mention honors as a sophomore
  • Earned finishes of ninth on 3-meter and 14th on 1-meter at the 2014 NCAA Championships
  • Notched a career best score of 418.60 on 3-meter at the NCAA Championships
  • Won the 1-meter at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships to punch his NCAA Championships ticket
  • His NCAA Zone D 1-meter score of 397.40 set a new career high

  • Won five event titles during the season, including four on 1-meter, and one on 3-meter

2012-13 (FRESHMAN)

  • Named the SEC Male Freshman Diver of the Year and earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshmen Team
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships and competed all three events at the meet
  • Best finish at NCAAs was 26th on the platform
  • Earned a fifth-place finish on the 3-meter at NCAA Zone D Championships to qualify for the NCAA Championships
  • Notched season best times of 348.60 on the 1-meter, 364.65 on the 3-meter and 346.85 on the platform ... Also advanced to the finals of the 1-meter at Zones and finished in 10th place
  • Posted a seventh-place finish on platform at the SEC Championships with rounds of 346.85 in prelims and 342.90 in finals
  • Just missed making finals on the 1-meter at SECs with a ninth-place finish
  • Placed seventh on both the 3-meter and platform at the Tennessee Diving Invite
  • Won the 1-meter against Drury
  • Claimed the 3-meter win at the Mizzou Invite and finished second on both the 1-meter and platform
  • Took the 3-meter win against Alabama


  • Attended Olathe Northwest High School and competed for the Jayhawk Dive Club for coach Eric Elliott
  • Four-time All-American
  • Never lost a diving meet in his high school career
  • Was an Olympic trials finalist
  • Won four-consecutive state and Sunflower League titles
  • Became the first diver in Kansas history to top 600 points (608.15)
