Long Finishes 15th in China

Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou golfer Jace Long finished 15th at the 2011 World University Games in China on Saturday, shooting a final round 77 to finish 2-under-par for the event.

It was the lone above-par round for the Dixon, Mo., native and he finished second among all Americans in the field. Long opened the Games with a 4-under-par 68 and was again solid in rounds two and three with back-to-back scores of 69-72 on the par-72 course.

Japan's Hideki Matsuyama finished 19-under-par to earn the Gold Medal, besting teammate Yoshinori Fujimoto by three shots. Japan won the team competition by 13 shots over silver medalist, Italy. Mexico took the bronze and the Americans finished seventh.
