Columbia, Mo. - Mizzou Golf Head Coach Mark Leroux was named head coach for Team USA at the 2014 TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup, which will be played at Chukyo Golf Club's Ishino Course in Toyota City, Japan, June 24-27.

The Junior Golf World Cup, which follows a four-players-count-three scores format, will consist of four rounds. The TOYOTA Junior Golf World Cup Supported by JAL is the world's only junior golf championship in which national teams, winners of regional qualifiers held across six continents and participated by more than 60 national teams, compete for the world champion trophy.

"I'm honored to be selected by my peers as the coach of Team USA," said Leroux. "I was so excited when I got the call from the GCAA letting me know I had been named Coach. I consider this an opportunity of a lifetime. Very few people get a chance to play or coach for their country. I'm going into this with the mindset that this might be my only opportunity to wear red, white, and blue and I'm going to give it my all!"

Last season Leroux led the Tigers to a Top 20 national finish and a third-place showing at the 2014 NCAA Columbia Regional, a program best. The Tigers also finished 20th nationally at the NCAA Finals in Hutchinson, Kan., with Ryan Zech and Emilio Cuartero earning All-America honors.

Overall, Leroux has guided Mizzou to 21 wins in nine seasons and has more than 40 career victories at the collegiate level.

Leroux will lead junior golfers Zachary Bauchou (Forest Va.), Tyler McDaniel (Manchester, Ky.), Austen Truslow (Lake Mary, Fla.) and Cameron Young (Scarborough, N.Y.) in Japan. Team USA, which is sponsored by Nike Golf, has won the tournament five times since its inception in 1992 but has failed to claim the team title since 2005. The United States finished sixth last year.
