Round Two Individual Results
Prairie Dunes Golf & Country Club has earned acclaim as one of America's most challenging courses. Add the near two inches of rain the course received overnight, gusting winds in excess of 30mph and temperatures in the low 40s and the Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championships had conditions worthy of a British Open.
To Missouri's credit the club battled through the tough conditions and are within nine shots of the top eight, but the Tigers currently stand 12th after two rounds of action on Monday with scores of 310-307--617 (+57). The Tigers trail 11th place Iowa State (+54) by just three shots and are just five strokes behind 10th place Nebraska (+52) heading into Tuesday's third round.
Tournament favorite Oklahoma State (+21) is currently tied for the 36-hole lead with Colorado (+21). Both teams shot a two-round total of 581, while Texas A&M is third at 585 (+25).
Sophomore Will Harrold is currently leading Mizzou after 36 holes with scores of 77-75--152 and is tied for 22nd in the individual standings. Ryne Fisher (T-28) is one shot behind Harrold with a two-round 78-75--153, while Tyler Hillis (T-35, 76-79--155), Chris Johnson (T-45, 79-78--157) and Peter Malnati (T-57, 83-80--160) round out Missouri's scores.
Mizzou was tied with Oklahoma (310-301--611) for 10th after the first round, but the Sooners moved into ninth place with a second round 301. Nebraska enjoyed a second round 293 to move from 12th to 11th, but the Huskers are just three shots in front of Mizzou.
For the 10th time in event history Prairie Dunes Golf & Country Club is the host of the Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championships. Prairie Dunes is a par 70, 6,701-yard course in Hutchinson, Kan.
Third round action at the Big 12 Championships is slated to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
