Tigers Finish Eighth at Windon Memorial

Malnati picks up another top-10 finish.

Final Results

GLENVIEW, Ill.- Mizzou men's golf concluded play in the Windon Memorial in Glenview, Ill. with a round of 301 on Monday. The Tigers finished in eighth place with a three-round total of 879 (291-287-301).

Senior Peter Malnati claimed a top-10 finish for the fourth-straight tournament, placing in a tie for seventh place with a three-round total of 213. Malnati closed the tournament with a round of 73 on Monday, after carding a 69 and a 71 on Sunday.

Senior Ryne Fisher tied for 28th place with a 219 total, followed by sophomore Will Hogan's 36th place finish with a 221 total. Sophomore Chris Johnson had a 54-hole score of 234 and sophomore William Harrold finished with a three-round total of 235.

Illinois won the tournament with a score of nine-under-par 843.

Next up for the Tigers is the Austin Peal Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Ky. On Oct. 20-21.

 

 

Malnati Shoots 75 to Open NCAA Regionals

Missouri senior Peter Malnati carded a three-over-par 75 in day one of the NCAA South Central Regional, played at Karsten Creek Golf Course in Stillwater, Okla. Malnati is among a group of nine tied for the 28th spot, one shot out of 21st place. He is just three shots out of a tie for sixth place.

Mizzou senior Peter Malnati has earned a bid to the NCAA Regional that will be played in Stillwater, Okla. The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Committee selected the teams and individuals to participate in the 2009 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships on Monday.

After battling difficult weather conditions for 36 holes on Monday, the senior led the Tigers through a much-improved third-round as the club moved four spots up the team standings, highlighted by Malnati's 1-under-par 69 at the 2009 Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championships in Hutchinson, Kan.

Add the near two inches of rain the course received overnight, gusting winds in excess of 30mph and temperatures in the low 40s and the Big 12 Conference Men's Golf Championships had conditions worthy of a British Open.
