After two rounds of play, the Mizzou Men's Golf team sits in eighth place at the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate. Leading the team competition following 36 holes of play is the host school, the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The Blazers (-20) jumped ahead early in the second round and never looked back.

As a team, the Tigers (291-292--583) finished the first day of competition 7-over-par. Mizzou's play was highlighted by an impressive first-round score from Ryan Zech (-1). The junior matched the Shoal Creek Intercollegiate 18-hole record with a 5-under-par 67 in round one and is 21st overall heading into Tuesday's finale.

Columbia Regional Preview champion, Emilio Cuartero, was the only Tiger to finish in the Top 10. The senior (-2) is tied for 10th with 10 other competitors heading into tomorrow.

After notching a hole-in-one during Sunday's practice round, freshman Euan Walker was even-par after two rounds and tied for 27th.
