Columbia, Mo. - Senior Jace Long and the Mizzou Men's Golf program lead after 36 holes of play at the 2012 Golfweek Conference Challenge in Burlington, Iowa.

A senior from Dixon, Mo., Long is 7-under-par after two rounds, recording scores of 68-69--137 to build that one-shot advantage over Tulsa's Chris Worrell (71-67--138) heading into Tuesday's finale.

The Fourth Annual Golfweek Conference Challenge is being played at the Spirit Hollow Golf Club in Burlington, Iowa. The event features 15 teams, each from a different conference. The Tigers (-4) currently hold a three-shot lead over ACC participant Wake Forest (-1). Tulsa of Conference USA (+4) is third.

Missouri is looking for its second consecutive win to open the year. The Tigers cruised to a 19-shot victory at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate (Sept. 2-3) in Verona, N.Y. Long also claimed victory in that tournament with rounds of 66-66-69--201. Through five rounds this season Long's scoring average is an incredible 67.6.

Depth has been critical during the team's hot start this fall. Four Tigers are currently among the Top 21 including Hunter Kraus (-1) who is eighth with rounds of 73-70--143. The Memphis, Tenn., native finished a career-best third at Turning Stone and continued his strong play Monday with three birdies and just one bogey. Sophomore Ryan Zech (+1) is 13th shooting 72-73--145, while junior Emilio Cuartero is 21st 73-74--147.

Freshman Jacob Fair, playing in just his second career event, is 7-over-par with rounds of 75-76--151.

A victory by Mizzou on Tuesday would be the second straight for the Southeastern Conference at this unique tournament. Arkansas won in 2011, while Iowa (2010) and Florida State (2009) were the first two champions.

Head Coach Mark Leroux is also looking for his 14th tournament title at Missouri, with 10 of those wins coming since the 2009-10 season.

The final round of play begins Tuesday at 9 a.m.
