Mizzou Golf finished the 2013 NCAA Columbus Regional with its best round of the tournament (291), but the Tigers were unable to crack the Top Five and closed out the year with an eighth place showing in Ohio.

Only the top five teams advance to the 2013 NCAA Finals and the Tigers finished seven shots behind Texas Tech for the final qualifying spot.

No. 5 New Mexico (+18) earned the Columbus Regional crown by two shots over Auburn (+20) and South Carolina (+20). UNLV (+26) was fourth and Texas Tech (+27) finished fifth.

Junior Emilio Cuartero and sophomore Ryan Zech each earned Top 15 finishes for Mizzou. Cuartero was 1-under-par on Saturday with a final round 70 and tied for ninth, 4-over-par for the tournament.

Just two shots behind Cuartero was sophomore Ryan Zech, who was solid all weekend shooting rounds of 70-75-74--219 to tie for 15th.

Junior Hunter Kraus saw a big improvement in his final round, shooting an even-par 71 to tie for 58th, one shot behind senior Jace Long who finished with a 5-over-par 75. Long tied for 55th overall. Long was the lone senior playing for Mizzou this weekend and four returning starters will fuel Head Coach Mark Leroux's club in 2013-14.

Freshman Jacob Fair finished tied with Kraus at 58th overall, shooting rounds of 75-78-76.
