Round 1 Results Get Acrobat Reader

Bowling Green, Ky. - Mizzou Men's Golfers, Jace Long and Emilio Cuartero, finished up the first round of play at the 2012 NCAA Men's Golf Regional Championship today, May 17. Competing as individuals, Long (+2) is currently tied for 18th place while Cuartero (+4) sits in a tie for 35th. The tournament is taking place at the Club at Olde Stone, which boasts a 7,372 yard, par-72 championship course.

Long started the day at even par before putting up two bogeys on the front nine. He followed up consecutive birdies on the seventh and eighth holes to again sit at even par. Adding two more bogeys to his tally, Long finished the day just 2-over-par with a score of 74.

Cuartero sits just two strokes behind Long as he finished the first round 4-over-par with a score of 76. Cuartero recorded two birdies in the first round, earning them on holes three and four.

UCLA currently leads the tournament with a team score 4-under-par. Chattanooga and Colorado State (+6) are tied for second place as well. Individually, Pedro Figueiredo (UCLA) and Johnathan Fly (Memphis) lead the tournament sitting at 4-under-par. UCLA's Patrick Cantlay holds the third place spot as he scored 3-under-par on the day.
