Tigers Stand Sixth After Day One of UMB-Mizzou Intercollegiate

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri men's golf team is in sixth place at the UMB Bank-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate, hosted by the Tigers at The Club at Old Hawthorne. MU carded rounds of 292 and 302 on Monday for a two-round total of 594. Kansas State leads the tournament with a 574 total (280-294), followed by UT-Arlington (275-305=580), SMU (289-295=584), New Orleans (291-298=589), Iowa State (291-302=593) and Mizzou. Missouri senior Ryne Fisher is in sixth place in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 144 after rounds of 71 and 73. Fellow senior Peter Malnati is tied for 13th place with a 147 total (74-43), while sophomore William Harrold is tied for 31st place with a 152 total (76-76). Sophomore Will Hogan is in a tie for 43rd spot with a 154 total (71-83) and freshman Chris Johnson stands in 63rd place after a 159 (79-80) score on day one. Sophomore Tyler Hillis, entered in the tournament as an individual, is in a tie for 17th with a 148 score after day one with rounds of 71 and 77 on Monday. Two players share the individual lead as SMU's Kelly Kraft and Kansas State's Mitchell Gregson have 137 scores after 36 holes of play. The final round will get underway at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning at Old Hawthorne.
