Missouri Golf finished 11th at the 2013 Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic on Tuesday. The Tigers improved each round of the 14-team event and will look to continue their climb up the national rankings in two weeks as the team participates in the challenging Hootie at Bull's Bay Intercollegiate, March 24-26 in South Carolina.

Senior Jace Long led Mizzou with a tie for 20th, his eight Top 20 of the year. Long fired rounds of 72-75-74 to pace an improving Tiger squad that will look to remain in the national rankings after a lengthy winter break.

Junior Emilio Cuartero was second among Tiger finishers shooting 79-72-75 to tie for 44th, while Ryan Zech tied for 51st with rounds of 80-76-74.

Hunter Kraus (76-82-71) tied for 57th and Jacob Fair (80-77-77) finished 71st to finish out the scoring for Mizzou.

San Diego State won the event by three shots over TCU and Arizona State. Sun Devil freshman Jon Rahm won the event with rounds of 72-70-67. The ASU squad was undoubtedly sparked by a visit from former Sun Devil great Phil Mickelson, so stopped by to see his old squad on Tuesday.

Missouri returns to action March 24-26 at the Hootie at Bull's Bay Intercollegiate.
