DADE CITY, Fla. - The Missouri men's golf team opened up its spring season by carding a round of 285 on Friday at the USF Invitational in Dade City, Fla. and stands in a tie for sixth place.

Three other teams, Middle Tennessee State, Texas Tech and Columbus State, are tied with the Tigers after rounds of 285 on Friday. Missouri State leads after recording a 281 in the first round.

Senior Ryne Fisher led the Tigers with an opening round 68. He stands in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings. Sophomores Will Hogan and William Harrold each carded even-par rounds of 72 on Friday and are among a group tied for 32nd spot.

Senior Peter Malnati is tied for 48th place after a round of 73 and sophomore Tyler Hillis' opening round 75 put him in a tie for 74th spot.

Round two of the USF Invitational is set for Saturday at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club.
