Outlook:
One of the nation's top tight ends who gives Mizzou a huge mismatch in the passing game ... Will likely be on the short list of candidates favored to win All-American acclaim in 2008, as well as the John Mackey Tight End Award ... Was selected to the prestigious Playboy Magazine All-America team, and took part in the annual team photo shoot in Phoenix this May, along with teammate Jeremy Maclin ... With 20 career receiving TDs, he is the Mizzou record-holder for most career TDs at any position ... Is just the 3rd TE in MU history to catch 100 passes ... In just 3 seasons, already ranks 2nd on the MU tight end career receptions list (157 catches), and is 2nd on the MU tight end career yardage list (1,672 yards), and needs just 47 catches and 504 yards to break the records held by Martin Rucker ... With 338 yards receiving in 2008, he will become just the fifth Tiger in history to reach 2,000 career receiving yards ... Begins the 2008 season ranked 1st on the MU career list in TD catches, 3rd in receptions and 7th in receiving yardage ... Is more than a pass catcher, as he stands out on special teams units, and in 2006, he won the team's Hammer Award, which goes to the Tiger who delivers the most big blocks during the season ... Is a superb athlete who can do virtually anything he is asked to do, and often times looks effortless in doing so do his smooth abilities ... Has hands of gold, as he catches virtually everything that he gets his hands on, whether in a game or in practice ... Is a smart receiver who knows how to use his considerable size advantage over defenders, whether lined up against a defensive back, safety or linebacker ... Gives the MU offense such a mismatch advantage due to his ability to go over the middle and make the tough catch in traffic, as well as his ability to get deep and outleap defenders for the ball in the endzone ... Had surgery after the Cotton Bowl to clean up bone spurs in his right ankle that limited him late last season, and was limited in what he did initially during spring camp, but was cleared for full contact eventually, and caught 4 passes for 34 yards in the spring game ... Submitted his name to the NFL Draft Advisory panel in the off-season, and despite getting very favorable feedback toward his potential in the 2008 Draft, he chose to come back to Mizzou for his senior season.
