Head Coach Gary Pinkel
On Texas A&M...
"Texas A&M has had a great year. They are playing exceptionally well and at a high level. Things are a little different this week since we don't have class this week. It's good for our players. They can catch up a little bit or advance academically. It also gives us more time to prepare for this game, with how important the game is."
On Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel...
"He's a redshirt freshman so he's been in their program for a year. He's a very, very impressive player. He's athletic, he throws the ball well and he's accurate. He can throw off balance, he's creative. When you watch film you wonder how he pulls stuff off but he does. He plays with a lot of confidence."
On possible similarities between Manziel and Brad Smith...
"Not really. To me it is more Chase Daniel: a young player playing at a high level. That's what I see more of. When Kevin (Sumlin, Texas A&M head coach) came in, what was intact that was as good as anyone was their offensive line. They have a really good offensive line that has been intact the entire season. (Manziel) also has receivers making plays. But he's playing at a high level."
On what the team can take from the last two wins at Texas A&M...
This has to be a world record third time going down there. All teams are different. Our players have great respect for A&M and it is a great place to play a football game. That being said, the reason we won those games was because we played well and made plays at the end to win."
On Texas A&M defensive lineman Damontre Moore...
"He's pretty aggressive and has a number of sacks. You have to know where he is at all times. He's a great, great player, a big impact player who is playing at a high level."
On Kendial Lawrence's play...
I'm sure he'll have opportunities at the professional level. He's having a great year. Even with all our challenges on the offensive line it's amazing that he almost has 1,000 yards. He's very talented and a tough runner."
On the recent success of Jimmie Hunt and other young receivers...
"Jimmie is athletic. He's been looking better in practice and always has a great attitude. Bud Sasser is also playing pretty well, as is Dorial (Green-Beckham) . With James (Franklin) healthy the last couple of weeks we've been able to throw the ball down field. So these guys seem to be showing up more because of a healthy and experienced quarterback. "
