Maclin, Coffman Named Finalists For Biletnikoff Award

COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri sophomore wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (Kirkwood, Mo.) and senior tight end Chase Coffman (Peculiar, Mo.) have been named as finalists for the 2008 Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the nation's top receiver. The award, administered by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, will go to one of 10 finalists (listed below), six of whom are from the Big 12 Conference.Coffman is the only tight end among the 10 finalists for the award. Maclin has followed up his 2007 All-American season with more of the same in 2008, as he leads the NCAA in all-purpose yards through games of Nov. 15th, with an average of 202.2 yards per game.Maclin has 79 receptions for 1,052 yards and an MU-record 10 touchdowns in 11 games. Coffman has been one of the top players in college football all season long, and despite missing the last two games due to a foot injury suffered Nov. 1st at Baylor, he still ranks among the top statistical tight ends.In nine games, Coffman has caught 73 passes for 819 yards and seven touchdowns.
