COLUMBIA, Mo. -The Mizzou Department of Athletics released the results of its recent football gameday survey and also announced a plan for improvements in the days leading up to kickoff of the Tigers' 2013 season. The survey was sent to season-ticket holders and single-game ticket purchasers on June 24, and responses were collected through July 12. Of the 12,376 surveys sent, 3,717 were returned for a 30-percent response rate.
The majority of the survey takers were male, Mizzou alumni in the 40's, 50's & 60's. The survey was divided into 8 different subjects all based on the gameday experience at Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field: First Impressions, Event Staff/Guest Services, Concessions, Restrooms, Tiger Team Store, Mizzou Band, Cheerleaders/Golden Girls/Truman & the Video & Sound Board. Overall, 66% of Mizzou fans stated they were satisfied with the gameday experience and 21% were very satisfied. Mizzou Athletics will implement an improvement plan in the days leading up to August 31st.
Among the findings, Mizzou fans indicated the following:
- The Event Staff's friendliness, knowledge and helpfulness are the most essential to their gameday experience;
- How long they have to wait at the concession stands, the performance of the staff at concessions and the price of the food and beverages were the most essential to their gameday experience;
- 99% of Mizzou Fans determined that the overall satisfaction of the Restrooms was an essential part of their gameday experience;
- Mizzou fans determined that the announcer and overall video board content were the most essential factors of their overall gameday experience. Specifically, Mizzou fans determined the clarity and volume level of the announcer as important parts of their gameday.
The results provided information on customer satisfaction as well as the importance of specific elements of the fan experience. Each section also included an open-ended comment box that could be used for additional thoughts and feedback
