State Farm Arch Rivalry Game Sold Out

July 23, 2008

The 2008 State Farm Arch Rivalry Game between Mizzou and Illinois has reached a sellout, as both schools, along with the St. Louis Sports Commission, have sold out of their allotment of tickets. The only tickets left to be claimed are a limited number of $15 tickets for Mizzou students who have purchased the Student Season Ticket Combo.

Missouri and Illinois will open the 2008 season with their annual meeting in the State Farm Arch Rivalry Game at 7:30 p.m. CT on Aug. 30 at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis. The game, which will be televised on ESPN, is highly anticipated as both teams are expected to be ranked in the Top 25. MU is coming off a 12-2 season in 2007, which included a Big 12 North Title and a Cotton Bowl Championship, while Illinois won nine games and advanced to the Rose Bowl last year.

This year's meeting will mark the fourth for Mizzou and Illinois in St. Louis, with the Tigers winning each of the three previous games, including a 40-34 victory last season. The two teams also met in 2002 and 2003. The average attendance for the first three matchups was 62,601-- a number that is expected to be surpassed this season.

Tickets for the Tigers' remaining games in 2008 are still available. Visit mutigers.com for more information.
