Mizzou Fans Help Athletics Name New Football Stadium Areas

July 17, 2014

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Construction cranes have been front and center for over a year now at Mizzou’s Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field, and soon, Tiger fans will get to see in person just what they’ve been up to, as the 2014 season opener on Aug. 30th against South Dakota State is only 44 days away.

Several new areas have been created at the stadium as part of the East Side Expansion project, and recently, Mizzou fans conducted an online vote to help the Department of Athletics give a name to these new sections.

Here’s a rundown of the winning names that fans have chosen for the areas:

  • East Side Upper Deck:  The Tiger Deck
  • East Side Club:            The Columns Club
  • Tailgating Terrace:       Truman’s Terrace

As part of the voting process, which was held recently online at www.garypinkel.com, one lucky fan chosen randomly won two season tickets for the seven-game home 2014 home schedule in the new Tiger Deck section.  Jennifer Workes of St. Louis, Mo., was the grand prize winner, and will have two season tickets in the Tiger Deck for 2014.

Season tickets are on sale for the upcoming season as the Tigers look to defend their 2013 SEC Eastern Division championship.  For information on obtaining tickets, please visit http://www.mutigers.com/tickets/tickets-m-footbl-body.html, or call 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS in Columbia).
