COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri has added two opponents to its future football schedules, as announced today by Associate Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt. Alnutt, who oversees football scheduling for the Department of Athletics, has secured multi-game agreements with Miami University (Ohio) and Indiana to be future Tiger foes.

The series with Miami is a two-year deal that will feature games in Columbia in 2010 and in Oxford, Ohio, in 2012. The Tigers and Redhawks have not previously met on the gridiron.

Mizzou and Indiana agreed to a two-year home-and-home series, beginning with a tilt in Bloomington, Ind. in the 2013 season, followed with a return game in Columbia in 2014. The Tigers and Hoosiers will be playing for the first time since 1992, when Indiana took a 20-10 win in Bloomington. The schools have played 10 times overall, with Indiana owning a 6-2-2 lead in the series. They played once a year for eight straight seasons (1985-1992), with Indiana winning six of the games, with the other two ending in ties. Mizzou has not beaten Indiana since 1954.

In addition to the above, Mizzou has agreed to push back the beginning of the scheduled series with Wyoming, at the request of the Cowboys Athletic Department. Games scheduled for 2011 (Columbia) and 2012 (Laramie) have been pushed back to 2017 (Columbia) and 2018 (Laramie).

Additionally, Mizzou and Illinois have mutually agreed to not extend the contract for the Arch Rivalry contest in St. Louis beyond the end of the current contract, meaning that the game in 2010 will be the last one played between the border rivals for the time being. Alnutt said that Mizzou remains open to a possible resumption of the series in the future when the time is right for both schools.

The 2010 non-conference schedule still has one spot to fill, but for now includes the season-opener on Sept. 4th against Illinois in St. Louis, followed by the home opener on Sept. 11th against McNeese State. Open dates on Sept. 18th and Oct. 2nd (only one of which will be filled by a non-league opponent) are sandwiched around the newly-added game on Sept. 25th against the Miami Redhawks.
