COLUMBIA, Mo. - During a press conference Friday morning at the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex, sophomore All-American WR/KR/PR Jeremy Maclin announced that he will make himself eligible for the 2009 NFL Draft.

Maclin made the announcement following a meeting with Head Coach Gary Pinkel and Assistant Coach/Wide Receivers Andy Hill. Among his comments during the press conference was that he didn't make a final decision until after his meeting with the Tiger coaches, who gave Maclin their blessing.

Maclin was a consensus first-team All-American as an all-purpose player for the second straight year in 2008, making him only the second Tiger in history to twice earn first-team All-American honors. He led the nation in all-purpose yards in 2008, averaging 202.36 yards per game, making him the first Tiger since the great Roger Wehrli led the nation in punt returns in 1968.

In his two-year MU career, Maclin has amassed 182 receptions for 2,315 yards and 22 touchdowns in the air, 668 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground, and another 2,626 combined yards on punt and kickoff returns.
