Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel
On the atmosphere:
"It was good to see the students out especially with the rain and the three day (Holiday) weekend. We hope to have those (attendance) numbers in the 70's moving forward in our next home games."

On the first SEC game against Georgia:
"Tomorrow we will begin looking at Georgia, but we do not focus on one team before playing them. We will play them (Georgia) and after that game we will focus on the next team. We do not look past the team we are playing this week."

On Corbin Berkstresser:
"He did a good job especially for not playing for two years."

On other players coming in and stepping up:
"A lot of our guys came in and stepped up when they needed to. They did what was asked of them. We do have to look at the film and see where we can improve because we can improve as we move forward."

MU Player Quotes
DE Michael Sam
On his fumble recovery for a touchdown:
"I don't know what play we were running but I do know that Kony Ealy sacked a quarterback and made a first fumble and I just saw an opportunity to put the ball up and go for a touchdown."

On the shift in momentum when the defense scores:
"It is a big momentum change. I was so pumped up when I saw Gooden return his interception for a touchdown and I was just like ' I wish I could get one' and it happened a couple plays later."

TB Kendial Lawrence
On being hurt last season and using it as motivation:
"It just drives you to come back harder and work hard when you are out there. Honestly I am very motivated times 100. This is my last year and especially with coming off injury last year."

On his personal goals for the season:
"I mean, rushing for 1,000 yards is probably every running back's goal but my goal is go out there and play as a team. I work my hardest on every play."

On being a weapon in Mizzou's offense:
"I feel like I can be a weapon. I go out there and work my hardest and I feel like I bring good things to the table."

QB James Franklin
On the impact of the rain:
"I just had to be more aware. Get a better grip on the ball so that is something that I will probably work on a little bit better next time."

On defense making big plays:
"We don't want them to score more than we do but we definitely want them to get their momentum. Everybody goes off of that."

On getting off to quick starts:
"It definitely helped out because we kept moving the ball. Hitting some down field, just kept moving the ball. I felt a lot more comfortable back there and it felt good."

On getting Dorial Green-Beckham the ball:
"When I miss him I miss him pretty good but it was cool to hit him and put him in [with] that personnel. We have to see what we can do with the ball."

SE Louisiana Head Coach Ron Roberts
On his team's inconsistency:
"We just made too many mistakes at critical points in the game. I don't care who we play. We didn't do a good job making adjustments to their speed on the field. Tackling guys in space was a huge issue. I thought we settled down in the second quarter and played well. The third quarter started and we had two turnovers and gave them 14 points. It comes down to linemen, assignments and execution. I thought our effort was good. Our team played hard. Every time you make a mistake against a team of this caliber you're going to pay for it big. We have to be more consistent."

On having to adjust during the week because of the storm:
"I don't want to make any excuses. There was a lot of emotional up and downs this week. We had to cancel school Monday and people were looking for places to eat and sleep. There might have been a lot of emotion this week where we weren't focused on the game but it's no excuse for how we played. Things happen in life and it's about how you handle it."

On getting behind early:
"On the first four plays I don't think we even got lined up right. We just didn't execute very well. We just told them to calm down and play some football. The speed factor was huge."

On the offense's struggles:
"When we protected Nathan (Stanley) I thought he threw the ball very well. We had too many drops. We have a young receiving core, talented but they probably only have 15 catches between them coming into the game."

Coach Pinkel | Mizzou Players | SE Louisiana Coach Ron Roberts

SE Louisiana Players
QB Nathan Stanley
On the game:
"We had too many mental mistakes. We came out too flat too early. We have to learn from our mistakes, move on and forget about it."

On if the weather affected the team schedule:
"It was a big distraction, we lost a day of practice. To me, that's just another excuse. We have to come out more focused. 62 -10 is unacceptable regardless of how many practices you get. We have to clean a lot of things up and get back to work."

On the running game:
"We had a lot of mental mistakes. We came out too flat and didn't adjust to the game very well at first. But I have to give credit to those guys. They have a good defensive line. But at the same time, I'm not making excuses. We should have been able to run the ball better than we did tonight."

DB Marice Sutton
On what they can take away from the game:
"As a team we have to get tougher all around the board, special teams, defense, and offense. No excuses, we need to come out be tough."

On the defensive improvements in the second half:
"We started off trying playing at their tempo, just trying to feel the rhythm. We needed to pursue the ball and that was our biggest problem. Towards halftime we kind of got their number and in the second half we started getting lackadaisical."

On if nerves were a factor:
"That may have played a part. Some guys may have been nervous, but to me that's no excuse. It's a game of football. Everybody puts on their cleats the same way, so no excuses."

WR Jeff Smiley
On his touchdown:
"It was really exciting, knowing they were in man coverage, that I could be one of the possibilities they would throw it to. I saw my opportunity so I took it."
