Entering his third year on the Tiger coaching staff, and first year in the new role of offensive graduate assistant, is Marshall, Mo. native Marcus Yokeley. Yokeley came on board prior to the start of Mizzou's 2009 spring camp, in the role of offensive quality control graduate assistant, and in 2010, he worked as a defensive graduate assistant.
In his new role for 2011, Yokeley, a 2006 graduate of Truman State University, is responsible for the defensive scout team in preparation for each week's game, along with film breakdown and scouting reports for each of the Tigers' opponents, among other duties.
In his prior role working with offensive quality control, Yokeley was responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the offensive coaching staff, including video breakdown, scouting, computer and video informational input, as well as providing various assistance with recruiting operations.
Yokeley came to Mizzou after spending four years in various roles on the Lindenwood University football staff, including his last three seasons as an assistant coach, working as defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator. He began at Lindenwood as a graduate assistant coach in 2006, working with the outside linebackers. While at Lindenwood, he earned a masters' in education, with an emphasis on strength and conditioning.
During his playing days, Yokeley was a defensive back who earned honorable mention all-conference honors at the position at Truman State in 2004, and then served as team captain in both 2005 and 2006. In his prep days, he earned 1st-Team All-State defensive back honors in 2002 at Marshall High School.
Yokeley earned his undergraduate degree from Truman State in psychology. While working as part of the Tiger coaching staff, Yokeley is also currently pursuing his PhD at Mizzou in Health Education and Promotion.
