Came into his own in 2006 - winning honorable mention All-Big 12 acclaim from league coaches - and he enters 2007 fall camp listed atop the depth chart at one cornerback position after starting all 13 games there a year ago ... Showed that he can be a dependable coverage man, but also has the size, strength and speed to provide solid run support, as well ... Is Mizzou's active career interceptions and passes broken up leader, with 3 and 12, respectively, entering the 2007 season.
Took over as MU's feature cornerback in his 2nd year in the program ... Ranked 5th on the team overall, and 1st among MU cornerbacks, with 70 tackles ... Led the team with 9 passes broken up ... Earned honorable mention All-Big 12 acclaim from league coaches, and was named the team's cornerback of the year in 2006 ... Closed the year with a 12-tackle outing against Oregon State in the Sun Bowl, where he also broke up 2 passes and forced a fumble ... Had an outstanding night at No. 24 Texas Tech with a career-high and team-leading 13 tackles (11 solo), and added pass break up in MU's key 38-21 win in Lubbock ... Added his 1st career TFL in MU's win over Ole Miss, and broke up 2 passes on the day, in addition to making 6 tackles ... Forced a fumble in the win over Ohio ... Picked off his 1st pass of the season and returned it 19 yards against Kansas State, setting up a 2nd-half Tiger score ... Made 7 tackles (6 solo stops) against Nebraska ... Had a strong spring practice session, and earned the team's most improved defensive back award at the annual spring game ... Changed his jersey number to 3 in the spring after wearing 11 for the 2005 season.
Saw action in all 12 games, recording 13 tackles, 2 interceptions and 3 passes broken up ... Made a huge play to seal Mizzou's 38-31 win over South Carolina in the Independence Bowl, when he jumped a slant pattern on USC's final drive and intercepted the pass ... That pick gave MU the ball with less than just 1:29 left in the game and allowed the Tigers to run out the clock and gain the victory ... Finished the game with 3 tackles to go along with his game-clinching interception ... Had his biggest performance statistically at Kansas, as he had a season-best 4 tackles, and grabbed the first interception of his career, which set up the Tiger offense near midfield early in the game ... Had 2 tackles each in Iowa State and Baylor, while notching single-game tackles versus Arkansas State and Oklahoma State ... Broke up a pass against Baylor, as well ... Has practiced as a kick returner, and could factor into that mix, as well.
One of the top junior college defensive backs in the nation who came to Mizzou after originally signing with the Tigers out of high school, as part of MU's 2003 recruiting class ... Ranked as the No. 41 junior college player in the nation, by SuperPrep ... Earned NJCAA Honorable Mention All-American honors and 1st-Team all-conference honors at free safety in 2004 for Coffeyville after racking up 46 tackles, and adding 4 pass break ups, 1 interception and 1 blocked kick ... Also recovered a fumble and forced 2 more on the season ... Helped lead his team to a 10-2 record in 2004 and a final No. 3 ranking in the NJCAA national polls ... Even dabbled a bit at wide receiver, catching 3 passes for 62 yards, including one that went 46 yards for a TD ... Returned 2 kickoffs for an average of 31.0 yards ... Was regarded by many analysts to be the top high school prospect in the state of Missouri in 2003 ... Was a 1st-Team all-state defensive back for Eureka High School, who also throughout his career earned all-conference and all-metro honors at wide receiver, running back and all-purpose back ... Had 1,153 yards rushing and more than 400 yards receiving as a senior ... Was limited to 24 tackles as a senior, as opposing offenses rarely came his way ... Showed his explosiveness in the 4A championship game when he scored on a 59-yard run on the first play from scrimmage to put Eureka up 7-0 over Kearney, before Kearney rallied for a 36-22 win ... Junior season saw him rush for 960 yards and get over 200 yards receiving ... Played on Eureka teams that went 25-3 from 2000-02 ... Team won district titles in 2000 and 2002, conference championships in 2001 and 2002, and went 12-2 and was a Show-Me Bowl runner-up in 2002 ... Four-year letterman in track who placed 5th at the state championships in 2002 at 200 meters (21.8) and ran on a 400-meter relay team which broke a school record (42.19) ...
