2006 SEASON
One of the nation's premier pass rushers and most underrated players who is Mizzou's career record holder in QB sacks ... Was on his way to a monster season, as he was named one of 12 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award and was a mid-season 1st-Team All-American by multiple national media outlets, before suffering a broken hip in game #8 against Kansas State ... The injury didn't require surgery, and there was hope that he could possibly return in time for MU's bowl game, but as of press time, his status was uncertain ... Was an All-American candidate who was among the nation's QB sack leaders before suffering the broken hip against Kansas State ... Has a relentless motor and a leadership ability that has been missed on the field, as MU has recorded just 5 QB sacks total in the 4 games he's missed (1.25 pg), when it had averaged 3.6 per game with him in the lineup ... Despite missing 4 games, won the team's most valuable player award, and was named 2nd-Team All-Big 12 by league coaches ... Had 3 tackles and 2 QB pressures against Kansas State before leaving the game with a broken right hip ... Is MU's career leader in sacks (31.5), and is just 3 away from the Big 12 record of 34 held by Texas Tech's Aaron Hunt (1999-2002) ... Recorded a school record 4 sacks at New Mexico and has had at least 1 sack in 5-of-8 games ... Added a TFL at New Mexico as well, and was named Big 12 Defensive POW for his efforts there ... 9.5 of his 30 total tackles have gone for loss on the season ... Despite missing the last 4 games, still leads the squad with 11 QB pressures ... Had 5 tackles each versus Colorado and at Texas A&M ... Has an impressive array of pass rush moves that get him in the backfield quickly, along with his natural speed and elusiveness ... Is also a very tough player, as evidenced by the fact that he had his right knee scoped just 2 weeks prior to the Tigers' bowl game against South Carolina, and he rehabbed quickly enough to play in the game ... A little known fact is that he played the entire 2005 season with a meniscus tear in that knee, before he aggravated the injury in practice that forced the surgery prior to the bowl game.

2005 SEASON
Named 2nd-Team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press, and was named by the league coaches as an honorable mention all-league selection ... Earned 1st-Team All-Big 12 mention from the Houston Chronicle for his outstanding year, which saw him become an every down force, after specializing mostly his first two years on passing situations ... Started all 12 games at one defensive end position, and had a career year, with 66 tackles - tops among MU linemen - and a team-best 17 tackles for loss (70 yards) and 9 QB sacks (53 yards) ... Also led the team with 12 QB hurries (next-most on the team was 6, by two different players), forced 2 fumbles, broke up 5 passes and had 1 interception ... Ranked 3rd in the Big 12 with his 9 QB sacks, and his film-adjusted TFL total of 17 would have ranked 2nd in the league, as well ... Was named the team's defensive lineman of the year at the annual team banquet for his considerable efforts ... Had a monster game at Oklahoma State, and won Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors - MU's 1st defensive league weekly award since the 2002 season - when he had a career-high 11 tackles, 4 TFLs (9 yards), 2 QB sacks (5 yards), 1 forced fumble, 1 QB hurry and 1 pass broken up in Mizzou's 38-31 road win ... His forced fumble at OSU came on a key QB sack with under 1 minute to play in the 2nd quarter that set up a Tiger TD with 30 seconds left ... Ended the season with 24 career QB sacks, which is the new Mizzou record, surpassing the previous mark of 22.5 held by former All-American and current Cincinnati Bengal standout Justin Smith ... Claimed the record at Kansas, when he notched 1.5 sacks to raise his total to 23 ... Had 7 total stops on the day at KU, his 2nd-most of the season ... Also had 7 stops against Iowa State, to go with 2 TFLs and 1 QB sack ... Had a minimum of 3 tackles in each game, and made 5 or more in all but 2 games ... Had 2 QB hurries against Nebraska, and grabbed the 1st interception of his career when he snagged a tipped pass at the line of scrimmage ... Had a TFL in all but 3 games, and had at least 1 QB sack in all but 5 games on the year.

2004 SEASON
Had a solid follow-up to his successful freshman season, as he led the team in QB sacks for the 2nd straight season, with 7 sacks in 11 games ... Was named to Hon. Men. All-Big 12 team by the league media for the 2nd straight season ... Came off the bench in all 11 games, as he was used in more strategic situations, and he was very productive in his opportunities ... Ended the year with 22 tackles, 8 tackles for loss (55 yds.) and a team-best 7 QB sacks (51 yds.) ... Also ranked 2nd on the team with 7 QB hurries, and tied for the team lead in forced fumbles, with 2 on the year ... Had a huge night at Baylor, while playing in his home state of Texas, as he registered a career-best 3 QB sacks, had 2 more QB hurries, forced 1 fumble and had a season-high 5 tackles in all, as MU got a road win in Waco ... Was a big part of MU's stingy defensive effort in the season-ending win at Iowa State, as he had 4 tackles, including a QB sack on a big 4th-down play in the 1st quarter with ISU deep in Tiger territory ... His sack at Texas was good for a 13-yard loss and a forced fumble, but the Longhorns were able to fall on the ball deep in their own territory.

2003 SEASON
Made huge contributions as a redshirt freshman, and was named 1st-Team Freshman All-American by several outlets (Scripps/FWAA, The Sporting News, College Football News, Rivals.com, College Sports Report) ... Had an NCAA freshman high 8 sacks on the year (49 yards), and was among national top-25 among all players with his team-best 4 forced fumbles ... Also led the team with 13 quarterback hurries, nearly double that of the next-highest (7 by C.J. Mosley) ... Started the year off like a shot, as he had 5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles in MU's first 3 games ... Had a single-game best 5 tackles in 4 outings, against Eastern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State, at Kansas and at Colorado ... Got to the Buffalo QB twice in that game (2 sacks for 14 yards) and added another QB hurry on the day.

2002 SEASON
Redshirt year ... Was named defensive scout team player of the week twice, for his efforts during the week of the Illinois and Texas Tech games.

HIGH SCHOOL
One of the top pass rushers out of the state of Texas who was rated among the top-30 weakside defensive ends in the country by Rivals.com ... Rated the 50th-best player in the state of Texas by the Dallas Morning News ... A two-time all-state selection and two-time Denton High School Defensive Player of the Year ... Led his team to the state title in 2001 ... As a senior, tallied 160 tackles and 35 quarterback sacks ... Also recovered four fumbles ... As a junior, made 103 tackles, 20 of those going for quarterback sacks ... High school coach - Joey Florence.

PERSONAL
Son of Arthur and Fredia Montgomery ... Career interest lies in psychology.
