Earned 2nd-Team All-State honors as a senior in 2010, when he tallied 85 tackles, 4 interceptions and 12 pass break ups, helping his school reach the third round of the state playoffs - the deepest run into the playoffs for the school in a long time ... Also added 5 tackles for loss and 3 forced fumbles during his senior season, and was named the team's defensive back of the year ... Team reached the state playoffs during his junior season, as well ... Originally hails from Galveston, Texas, but was displaced in the fall of 2008 due to Hurricane Ike, and moved to the Bryan-College Station area to live with his sister, who was a teacher there at the time ...
