Played well enough to earn the starting nod in the final 2 games of the season, at Texas A&M and at home against Kansas State ... Ended the season with 19 tackles, including 3 for losses, in addition to 5 QB hurries ... Registered at least one tackle in all 12 games ... Ended the season by making a career-high 3 stops against 10th-ranked Kansas State ... Notched one TFL (for 3 yards) and added a career-high 2 QB hurries in week 4 against Troy State ... Weatherspoon enters this Saturday's home finale against Iowa State with a team-best 93 tackles, including 12.0 tackles for loss and 3.5 quarterback sacks. His 9.3 tackles-per game average is currently 2nd-best in the Big 12 Conference, and 30th-best in the NCAA, while he also ranks 29th in the nation with his 1.25 tackles for loss average.
