A fierce hitter over the middle and a strong run supporter from his strong safety position, where he is looking to build on his outstanding junior season of a year ago ... Will be looked to for leadership in the secondary, as he's the elder statesman by far for a defense that lost both starting cornerbacks and the starting free safety from last year's unit ... Has 38 games and 22 starts of experience under his belt ... Is an outstanding student who is on pace to earn his undergraduate degree in communications this December - in just three-and-a-half years, as he played as a true freshman.


Turned in an oustanding junior season, as he won the starting job at strong safety, and stayed there all season, playing a key role in Mizzou's defense developing into one of the tops in the Big 12 and one of the most improved in the nation ... Ended the year with a career-high 66 tackles, while grabbing a pair of interceptions and breaking up 5 passes in all on the season ... Had four tackles against Illinois ... Made his third career interception in the fourth-quarter of MU's come-from-behind victory ... Returned the INT 32 yards ... Intercepted a pass for the second time in as many games as he picked off a pass against McNeese State, returning it 16 yards ... Added two tackles in the win over MSU ... Recorded five tackles against San Diego State ... Was also credited with a pass break-up against the Aztecs ... Led the team with 13 tackles (10 of which were solo stops) against Miami (Ohio) ... Had two TFL's against the RedHawks ... Also forced a fumble in that game ... Had a six-tackle performance in the shutout win over Colorado ... Recorded five tackles against Texas A&M ... Had a four-tackle performance against Oklahoma, with all four being solo stops ... Made five tackles against Nebraska, including on tackle-for-loss ... Recorded two stops at Texas Tech ... Provided a second year of solid contributions in the Tiger secondary, as he made 41 tackles in 12 appearances, which included five starts ... Also did an outstanding job in the classroom, where he was rewarded by being named a Second-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection ... On the field, made six tackles (four solo) in the season opener against Illinois ... Recorded four tackles against Bowling Green on Sept. 12 ... Developed quicker than perhaps expected by Tiger coaches, and went on to give big contributions as a true freshman, playing in 13 games and ranking seventh on the team with 62 tackles ... Started four of the last five games of the season as his contributions and playing time increased significantly down the stretch ... Saw his first action as a Tiger against Southeast Missouri State on Sept. 6, making five tackles ... Added five stops against Nevada and made four tackles against Buffalo ... Had his first career interception against Buffalo ... Had three tackles in each game against Nebraska and Oklahoma State and made one stop against Texas ... Made a huge play in the OSU game, as he tackled the punter short of a first down on a fake punt in the second quarter that gave the Tigers the ball deep in Cowboy territory ... Won the team's weekly Hammer Award for making the most big hits against Kansas State ... Set a new career-high with a team-best 12 tackles (eight solo) against Kansas ... Added an interception against KU that came in the Mizzou endzone, saving what looked like a potential Jayhawk touchdown drive ... Made eight tackles, six solo, against Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship Game, and closed by making six stops in all in the Tigers' thrilling overtime win over Northwestern in the Alamo Bowl.


Highly-coveted safety prospect who ESPN.com called one of the most underrated safeties in the nation, and ranked him as their No. 12 player at that spot in the country ... Ranked as the No. 74 player overall out of the state of Texas by Rivals ... Named an all-midwest region defensive back by PrepStar ... Earned Hon. Men. All-State honors at safety as a senior in 2007, while helping lead Mansfield to an 8-3 record (the school's best record since 1977) and a playoff appearance ... Was a First-Team All-Area selection in 2007, as well, and took home district and team defensive MVP honors for a year that saw him record 77 tackles, and add 11 pass break ups, two tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one INT ...Registered 125 tackles as a junior in 2006, while forcing three fumbles and earning First-Team All-District honors at safety ... Was an Hon. Men. All-District performer as a sophomore in 2005 while recording 53 tackles, recovering two fumbles, grabbing one INT and forcing one fumble ...
