Dan Hopkins, a 2004 University of Missouri graduate, is in his fourth season as Director of Football Operations, after being promoted to that post prior to the 2009 season. Previously, he spent two years as the Tiger Football staff's administrative graduate assistant.
In his current role, Hopkins is involved in a wide variety of important administrative duties that involve the Tiger program.
Some of his many duties include overseeing the coordination of the team's travel plans, oversight of the football budget, handling compliance issues, scheduling of facilities, assisting with recruiting operations and managing the day-to-day overall operations for the football program. He was also a lead figure in planning and executing the Tigers' trips to Houston, Texas for the 2009 Texas Bowl and last winter to the Phoenix, Ariz. area for the 2010 Insight Bowl.
Hopkins also is responsible for coordinating all public relations activities and community service events that require the presence of football student-athletes.
The Harrisonville, Mo. native made a return to his alma mater prior to the 2007 season as a graduate assistant coach, where he assisted the Tiger coaching staff with various recruiting administrative duties throughout the year, as well as lending a hand with scouting and game preparation efforts during the season.
A 2004 graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, Hopkins served as a student assistant coach for the Mizzou Football team for the 2003 and 2004 seasons. Following his graduation, he served as quarterbacks and wide receivers coach at William Jewell College for two seasons, before moving to Central Missouri State University, where he was the defensive graduate assistant coach for the 2006 season.
Hopkins is currently pursuing his Master's degree in health education and promotion at Mizzou.
