2009 OUTLOOK
An extremely fast and athletic defensive back prospect who will be in a battle this fall to win one of the starting cornerback jobs that opened up due to the graduation of previous starter Castine Bridges ... Is one of the better overall athletes on the team, who possesses a vertical jump of more than 40 inches, and is also one of the faster Tigers on the roster ... Begins fall camp listed third on the depth chart at one of the corner spots ... Closed spring ball by making a pair of tackles in the defense's 68-40 win over the offense in the annual Black & Gold Spring Game.
2008 SEASON
Continued his development with a solid redshirt freshman season that saw him earn more meaningful minutes toward the tail end of the season ... Closed with a solid performance in Mizzou's overtime win in the Alamo Bowl, as he made 3 tackles and broke up a pass in the winning effort ... Finished the year with 16 total tackles ... Notched a career-best 5 stops overall early in the year against Southeast Missouri State, with one of those being for a loss - his first career TFL ... Added 3 tackles against Nevada and started the season with a 2-tackle outing against Illinois ... Began fall camp listed third on the depth chart at one cornerback position, after turning in an impressive spring practice period ... Capped spring ball by recording six tackles in the annual Black & Gold Game.
2007 SEASON
Redshirted in his first year in the program, but showed weekly in practice throughout the year that he was someone who might be seeing the field in the near future.
HIGH SCHOOL
Rated by Rivals as the No. 68 safety in the nation, as well as the No. 10 overall prospect (all positions) out of the state of Kansas ... Ranked by Super Prep as the No. 79 overall prospect (any position) in the Midlands region ... Helped lead his team to an undefeated 2006 season (12-0) capped by a state championship victory over Great Bend to claim the Class 5A title ... Played well on both sides of the ball, as he had 31 tackles and 2 INTs (returning both for TDs) as a lockdown cornerback, and also added 45 catches as a wideout for 837 yards and 4 TDs ... Also returned 16 punts for 165 yards and 1 TD ... Earned honorable mention All-State honors as a senior, and was a 1st-Team All-Conference pick each of his last 2 years as a defensive back ... Team ended his 2005 season as state runners up, as he amassed 58 tackles, broke up 4 passes, and added 2 fumble recoveries and 1 INT, while also catching 6 TD passes (16 receptions for 692 yards in all) and returning 2 punts for TDs as well ... Also lettered in basketball and baseball for his school, where he won 1st-Team All-League honors at 2nd base on the diamond, and tied a state record in one game as he collected six hits ...
