2010 SPRING OUTLOOK Up-and-comer who is primed to be a starter for a second straight season in the middle of the trenches, after he emerged as a playmaker in 2009 when he started 12-of-13 games at defensive tackle ... Holds down the top spot on the depth chart at the nose tackle position, where he has proved to be a stout defender against the run.
2009 SEASON Came into his own as a run-stuffing tackle, as he started the final 12 games of the year at the tackle position ... Was a key figure in helping Mizzou control the line of scrimmage enough to rank 26th in the NCAA against the run (118.62 avg.) ... Finished with a career-high 46 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1 quarterback sack, and a safety ... Began the season second on the depth chart, but started the rest of the way after notching two tackles in the opener against Illinois ... Recorded three tackles in each of his first three starts (against Bowling Green, Furman and Nevada) ... Had TFLs against Illinois and Furman ... Made three stops against Oklahoma State and had five tackles against Texas ... Recorded three tackles (all solo) against Colorado ... 2008 SEASON Gave solid contributions to the depth of the Tiger defensive line as a redshirt freshman ... Saw action in 13 games on the season, and made 18 tackles in reserve duty ... Also added a pass break up in MU's 31-28 win at Baylor to begin the November stretch run ... Made two tackles, including a TFL against Southeast Missouri State ... Added two stops the following week against Nevada and had one tackle against Buffalo which resulted in a forced fumble ... Made three tackles in back-to-back games (Nebraska and Oklahoma State) ... Had two tackles at Texas ... Made one stop in the Tigers' shutout of Colorado ... Had a pair of tackles against Kansas State.

HIGH SCHOOL Ranked by Super Prep as the nation's No. 29 defensive tackle prospect, and also as the No. 57 overall prospect (any position) coming out of the state of Texas in 2007 ... Rated as the nation's No. 34 defensive tackle prospect by Rivals, which also ranks him as the No. 62 overall prospect (any position) in the talent-rich state of Texas ... Earned honorable-mention All-State status as a senior in 2006, as well as 1st-Team All-District honors, after amassing 90 tackles and 8 QB sacks on the season ... As a junior in 2005, was a 2nd-Team All-District performer, as he recorded 70 tackles, including 16 TFLs and 4 QB sacks ... High school coach - Darren Walker.
