2010 SPRING OUTLOOK
Very athletic and talented young defensive prospect with a big upside that has Tiger coaches excited about his ability for 2010 and beyond ... Played at defensive end as a true freshman in 2007, and took a redshirt in 2008 as he moved to linebacker ... Enters spring drills second on the depth chart at the strongside linebacker position, where he'll work to earn playing time ... Played both weakside and middle linebacker spots last year, and ended the season listed second on the depth at the middle position.
2009 SEASON
Played in 11 games on the season ... Recorded four tackles on the year, all solo stops ... Had two tackles in the home opener against Bowling Green ... Added a pair of stops against Nevada ... Also saw considerable playing time on various special teams units throughout the course of the season ... Ended spring camp by making 3 tackles from his linebacker position during the Black & Gold Game.
2008 SEASON
Took a redshirt as he made the adjustment to a new position ... Was named the team's Back-Up Player of the Week for his efforts during preparation for the Tigers' game against Southeast Missouri State ... Moved to linebacker during spring drills after having played defensive end as a true freshman in 2007 ... Lined up at the middle linebacker position, where he registered 3 tackles during the 2008 spring game.
2007 SEASON
Earned playing time as a true freshman ... Played in the final 11 games of the season after coaches decided to play him in game No. 4 and after ... Played in his first collegiate game against Illinois State, making two tackles against the Redbirds in a 38-17 Tiger win ... Spent a lot of his playing time on various special teams units, providing stability there.
HIGH SCHOOL
Defensive standout for Allen High School who was a 1st-Team All-District defensive end as a senior in 2006, and also earned honorable mention All-State honors by the Associated Press ... Notched 98 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 9 QB sacks and forced 4 fumbles in 2006, along with 3 fumble recoveries and 1 interception ... Helped his team reach the semifinal round of the state playoffs in 2006, before losing to eventual champion Southlake Carroll ... Was a 2nd-Team All-District pick as a junior in 2005 when he registered 70 tackles and had 8 tackles for loss to go with 7 QB sacks and 2 fumble recoveries ... Also starred in track at Allen for 3 years, and was part of a school-record holding and district champion 4x200 relay squad ... Ran a 21.8 time in 200 meters, and a 10.65 at 100 meters ... High school coach - Thomas Westerberg.
